I’ve been longing for this. Been using riverford for 4 years for weekly shop. Buy whole foods online for store cupboard and live on a working farm so have the privelage of fresh eggs and unmessed with milk. Have already forwarded this web link following Richard vorbes interview. Brilliant peaceful solution to a growing (pun intended) issue!

Hi Dawn here North Wales Rhyl Area I’m off chasing local supplier people.

Maybe it’s me but is there an easier way or link to pass on to local suppliers. I didn’t find it that easy but I’m old lol.

We urgently need a directory in our area to help the public find an alternative to the supermarkets for their food.

What a fantastic way to connect people with good locally sourced food. As a grower it is very disturbing watching this government unfold

  14. I am very excited to help get the word out about good food snd local suppliers.

  15. This is what is needed
A message to our government that will grow and grow, that we won’t accept poor quality food and we will support genuine independent suppliers and shops 💪♥️

I’m excited to become part of the ambassador team to encourage more businesses and farms markets etc to enable people to buy real whole non chemical laden foods.

  18. The supermarkets control at least 10% of our GDP and have been allowed to create a monopoly by the brown envelope recipients, causing a crisis for farmers and suppliers and for the small shop keepers that kept towns and villages alive. We need a bigger lobby than the NFU. ( I can’t remember what that stands for) !
The supermarkets are not selling food anymore, and driving us all into the ground and into unforgivable practices in farming just to exist. Some how we need to correct this ….

A perfect resolve to reboot food appreciation, from the obscenity it has become into what it used to be, say, four or five decades ago (i was born in 1964). Independent greengrocers, butchers, ‘to your door’ milk delivery (pre plastic pollution era), personable service….
If we can offer a better option against the corporate skull-duggery and domination of the manipulative giants, i’m pretty sure other service sectors can be made to fall in line with expectations. This Hub is a fantastic beginning.
Every one loves farmers. If not, those that don’t love them cannot live without them.
One thing to remind ourselves about government,.. they are out to destroy Great Britain.

  20. Not a single hub featuring in north Lincolnshire or nearby, yet so many farms around?
I think some serious work needs to be done!!

    1. Hi Jenny, glad to meet you! We are in Notts, not too far away,
      Kind regards,

So excited I have been wanting something to happen like this, this will bring people back together as community and unity has been lost deliberately by all these corporations. I myself have seen younger people don’t know how to cook from scratch and what a vegetable is anymore. I think adding recipes on this site would be a great idea too. We need to start helping the younger generation what real food is and help them back to nature. Let’s teach them that Food is thy medicine and medicine is thy food. 🙏

So glad to see this hub finally come to fruition!

The superstore monopoly has more than outstayed its welcome. I love seeking out local farms and farmers markets, even if it does take a little longer to get the shopping done… at least you are socialising, generally with likeminded people, and being served by people rather then stupid machines!

I have sent your link onto the farmer who supplies me with lovely raw milk and other organic produce so hopefully Hope Cottage Farm, Broughton, will soon be added to your list of suppliers, putting Chester on the map!

Thanks again to all involved in getting the hub off the ground… well done and every success in bringing independence back to the farmers and hopefully the high street!

This is fabby `farm -tastic` – so grateful for the inspiration, the input , the energy is so `yes, we got this`! Love everybody`s comments, and yes its not just about the farmers, the high street can get it back too and so many other things that are, well part of an agenda thats not even worth talking about! … but when we come from the heart we are all part of something greater than not so great things or niggly nasty people`s plans, can handle!! Farmers are `luck spreaders` and we`re lucky to have them so grow we will … for the good of all or not all!

Fab idea. Have already started posting links and spoken to my local veg store and emailed them a link. My husband and I are both going to get involved in promoting this wonderful idea all around our local area. Well done to all involved getting this off the ground. x

I’ve just downloaded the poster but need more ink before I can print it out and I’m now awaiting for the facebook group to accept my request to join. Hurry up! I’ve been preaching to people for years to support their local farmers and not supermarkets and expresses, etc! Nobody listened, I’ve watched many a farm locally vanish to redevelopment. I used to have a lovely fruit and veg shop, butchers and bakers years ago on my doorstep, now just a local corner shop, who do their best, but they were originally just a newagents, so far no Tesco express yet!
Lets hope it’s NOT too late to turn this back around!
Oh and lets not forget about saving what’s left of our allotments for those that want to grow stuff also!

  27. At last people of the same mind have come together!

What tools do Ambassadors get to spread the word. Can you post examples of letters/posters/leaflets.
I suggest also contacting The Light paper and writing an article about this new farmers venture.

Just signed up , have started distributing The Ambassador Letter, and made copies which I’ve given to friends to hand out. Our Farmers/ Growers/ Small Businesses need us, like we need them, we will succeed….
Would be nice if we could contact fellow Ambassadors within the area we live.
